Rape is God’s way of saying you should be pregnant…

As we enter the final stretch to the elections I am of a mind to speak truth to power: If you are a believer in the current information about the GOP and its latest “RAPE is God’s work” rants, you might not want to read this. You have been warned!

Even Rod Serling, in all of his insane genius, couldn’t have imagined something as crazy as this. Can you hear him saying: “Picture if you will, a government representative who has completely run off the rails. He is advocating the very concept that rape could have a good consequence. This could only happen in: The Twilight Zone.”

WASHINGTON — Indiana GOP U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock declared Tuesday night he opposes aborting pregnancies conceived in rape because “it is something that God intended to happen.”

Debating Rep. Joe Donnelly (D-Ind.) in their final Senate race showdown, a questioner asked them and Libertarian candidate Andrew Horning to explain their views on abortion.

All three said they were anti-abortion. But Mourdock went further, putting himself in territory near Missouri GOP Senate candidate Rep. Todd Akin, the anti-abortion congressman who infamously asserted that women don’t get pregnant from “legitimate rape.”

“The only exception I have to have an abortion is in the case of the life of the mother,” said Mourdock, the Tea Party-backed state treasurer. “I struggled with it myself for a long time, but I came to realize life is that gift from God. I think that even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”

RAPE IS GOD’S WAY OF SAYING YOU SHOULD BE PREGNANT! (Are you fucking kidding me?)

We are in the home stretch of the elections. Now, the most horrifying, the most reprehensible ideas will fly free in face of an Obama re-election. We hear him being called every name possible, retard, illegal, communist. We hear threats against women becoming a fact of normal life, being supported by crazed representatives as if no one should question the very ideas being represented: rape is God’s work, women’s bodies can prevent pregnancy using magical powers, women deserve less pay for the same work, hell, women should just stay out of the electoral process and let men do all of the voting in the future.

Left to the insane people who are seeking office today:

Our children would work in factories and forgo education. They would be given a bible they could carry at lunch and be given religious indoctrination instead of education. After all, we know Jesus and the dinosaurs played together, he had a pet raptor and there is an entire museum, 70,000 square feet attesting to this.

Women would NOT vote, shop, leave home, be able to wear shoes, have jobs, or do anything without the express permission of men. EVER. They would be expected to stay pregnant, no matter who impregnated them; father, cousin, uncle, brother, NO MATTER. It’s God’s will.

Minorities would be shuffled off to prison as fast as vehicles could carry them. If there were borders they could be shuffled back across, they would be shipped post haste, no matter how long their families might have lived in this nation. If you LOOK like a minority, you ARE one and good riddance to you. I said, Good Day.

This would go back to being a GOOD CHRISTIAN NATION of xenophobes, racists, bigots and assholes who believe their religion gives them the right to oppress whomever doesn’t believe in it. That science is just a group of opinions that don’t matter even if our entire technological infrastructure might be based in it, when it comes to ideas like global warming or toxic environmental conditions due to manufacturing, it’s just conjecture, having no basis in fact. Pass my i-Gadget please, I want to surf the net and masturbate, but don’t tell my mistress or my wife, because I am going to the men’s only golf club later to check out the newest glory holes…right after I head out to N*ggerhead and hang the Blacks we keep in prison for our latest installment of the WAR ON DRUGS.

The only problem I have with this rant, is I simply don’t go far enough. There are far too many in this nation who are in positions of power who have been caught doing nearly all of these things and more and yet WE KEEP VOTING THEM INTO OFFICE.

“A nation gets the government it deserves.” What the hell does that say about the United States when we would accept representatives who believe RAPE IS AN ACT OF GOD, and the homeless should inherit the Earth?

This post was brought to you by your “Rape Representatives” in the Republican Party.

  • U.S. Senate candidate Richard Mourdock (R-IN), in a debate last night: “Even when life begins in that horrible situation of rape, that it is something that God intended to happen.”1
  • Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL), to reporters last week: “With modern technology and science, you can’t find one instance” of an abortion necessary to save a woman’s life. “There is no such exception as life of the mother, and as far as health of the mother, same thing.”2
  • Vice presidential nominee, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), mocking women’s issues to a group of conservative donors: “Now it’s a war on women; tomorrow it’s going to be a war on left-handed Irishmen or something like that.”3
  • Presidential candidate, Gov. Mitt Romney, asked earlier this month whether insurance companies should be required to cover contraception: “Well it’s a question as to, should you get a car painted, you know, red or blue. I mean you can decide which you’d like.”4

Bat-shit crazy government is HERE!

This election has brought out the crazy, from Mitt Romney telling us how he cares about the middle class while actively putting people out of work for most of his working career, to Rep. Akins telling women their vaginas had superpowers. The greatest casualty of this election, so far, is the Truth. So let’s go ahead and call this one like it really is. Bat-shit crazy people want to run your government. If they aren’t already…

Round 1: “The Man from Bloomfield Hills – the Mitt Romney Story”

This “mockumentary” pokes fun at Mitt Romney’s pretense of growing up poor, living in a town where the median salary is $200,000 a year, struggling from a life of privilege, the scion of a wealthy father who owned a car company, who became a governor and ran for President. The film, while under ten minutes, slices apart that Mitt Romney knows anything about being poor, suffering or dealing with any of the issues of the middle class.

The film pokes fun at Ann Romney who mentions the time when Mitt and Ann were in college and forced to live off of stock options and $60,000. The film mentions how that $60,000 is the equivalent of $400,000 today. They certainly had to struggle, only able to own four or five cars… It documents Mitt Romney’s attempt to make a run at the governship for which he is so lauded, noting he spent $6.5 million of his own dollars to oust Kennedy. Money is speech and corporations are people after all.

His job at Bain Capital was the closest he had ever been to the middle class, putting them out of work in record numbers. He was probably nearby while the workers were being escorted off premises with their cardboard boxes. Conservatives don’t like the film because they feel it vilifies the rich making them seem like bastards, and  as if they are out of touch with the working class in America. Which, of course, is actually a true statement…

Watch this clip because the humor is dark, macabre and in its way terrifying in its absolute contempt of the middle class. A MoveOn original film. Paid for by MoveOn.org Political Action.

Round 2: Let’s talk about “Legitimate Rape” because we know there isn’t any other kind of rape, after all.

Oh wait, there is “marital or spousal rape,” which there was legislation, allowing men to escape prosecution, in the state of Missouri sponsored by Representative Todd Akin. Or how about the idea that rape is wrong and maybe men should stay out of the way whenever rape is being mentioned. In this whole debacle it never occurred to any of the men talking to Shut The Fuck Up.
Mr. Akin in a interview, discussing birth control, contraception, abortion and rape, indicated to Mike Huckabee: ““It seems to be, first of all, from what I understand from doctors, it’s really rare. If it’s a legitimate rape, the female body has ways to try to shut the whole thing down.

Rep. Todd Akin – ‘Legitimate Rape’ Statement and Reaction … (article, NY Times, Aug 20, 2012)

Rep. Akin gives second interview to Sean Hannity (audio, interview, SoundCloud, August 24, 2012)

But to be fair, Akin does apologize for his statement, not that anyone cared or thought much of it. The idea that he would not continue his run for office was never on his mind. There was a time when a man, who when “mis-speaking” and revealing themselves to be complete and utter souless bastards who should never be responsible for anything larger than a housecat, would simply retire from public life and make amends working in soup kitchens and trying to repent for their complete ass-hattery. Akin, of course, still thinks he is suited to be a Representative of the people. (As long as those people don’t have vaginas.)
“Spousal rape” and “legitimate rape” were just one more way to oppress women and ensure their eventual overturn of Roe vs. Wade because women in America hate abortion or at least the Republicans do and have done everything in their power to reduce the choices of women in America.

Todd Akin’s apology: His comments on spousal rape and forcible … (article, Slate, Aug 22, 2012)

The GOP want to create a country and a climate that says even if women ARE raped they WANT to bear the child of their rapist. Who wouldn’t? And if a woman is also her sister’s mother doesn’t make her life any more complicated, does it? And let’s be sure to allow rapists to have custody and visitation rights because after we have already taken away a woman’s rights NOT to be raped, and removed her right to an abortion, she should also have to confront her rapist regularly for the rest of her child’s life. That’s only sensible, Who wouldn’t want that?

Fortunately, women’s vaginas DO have superpowers and legitimate rape has its own pharmaceutical ad promoting it as a valid choice for American women. All S.L.U.T.s unite!

Round 3: “You didn’t build that.”

Holy shit, the Republican Party has gotten desperate because they are depending on a single sentence taking completely out of context to save their bacon. For those of you living in caves until today, I will give you the complete quote from President Obama with the single sentence being taken out of context:
“There are a lot of wealthy, successful Americans who agree with me — because they want to give something back. They know they didn’t — look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)

If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet.”

Now I was going to rant and pontificate about how the Republican Party wants to convince you that we don’t need:

· ROADS and TRANSPORTATION– one of the most expensive infrastructure developments of this nation, and once one of the most important. Our roads are in the worst state ever, no thanks to Congress who refuses to put any effort into creating legislation which might put construction companies back to work on repairing them.

· Jennie Phipps reports: the American Society of Civil Engineers released a report today that predicted that failure to fix bad roads, failing bridges and lousy rail lines would cost the U.S. 877,000 jobs and $3.1 trillion in revenue by 2020 because of slowdowns and increased transportation costs.

· Just navigating bad roads is enough to drive the cost of doing business up by $430 billion in the next 10 years, the engineers calculate, because it will slow the arrival of raw materials and make delivery more expensive.

· The engineers call for spending $1.7 trillion between now and 2020 on the nation’s highways and transit systems. While their timing seems bad — considering the debt crisis — think how many good jobs would be created if we upgraded rail transportation and did more than just patch potholes.

·  Curiously enough, that number $1.7 trillion is the same amount of money which will find its way into the pockets of the one percent if the Bush Tax Cuts remain as juicy as they are for the rich. So we can have rich people or we can have roads where food is going to a supermarket near you. Oh well, I guess we can just eat the rich.

· BRIDGES – there are 597,961 bridges in the continental US. These bridges maintain the flow of resources and people throughout the nation, making trips shorter and more effective. Bridges in our nation are suffering and close to 25% of all bridges are either Structurally Deficient (SD) or Functionally Obsolete (FO). Both are dangerous. This continual loss of infrastructure costs our nation hundreds of billions in terms of efficiency (fuel costs, travel time, increased shipping costs) for the moving of people and resources.

· Water, sewage treatment, fire fighting, police services, educational services, food safety, water safety, air quality, work safety are all other services the GOP would like to tell you are no longer necessary, are too expensive or can be done better by one of their friends who are eager to privatize said services at twice the cost.

The State of Our Bridges | Better Roads

But instead, I am going to let you read this nice piece from Know Your Meme who are talking about the manufactured outrage of the Republican Party about “You didn’t build that.” Be sure to read their whole article, complete with annotations, which I included below:

News Media Coverage

The controversy and online debate surrounding Obama’s quote were eventually picked up by mainstream news outlets like Los Angeles Times, Wall Street Journal and Washington Post beginning on July 16th, shortly after the Republican party’s appropriation of President Obama’s quote into a campaign advertisement at GOP.com. The Atlantic also published an article titled “You Didn’t Build That’: Straw Men, Manufactured Outrage, and Funny Memes,” which reported on the social media’s general reaction to the quote and several image macros carrying satirical messages. Meanwhile, conservative blogger Geoffrey Dickens criticized the news media’s response to the meme as intentionally delayed and selectively covered in a NewsBusters article titled “ABC, CBS & NBC Wait Five Days to Report Obama’s ‘You Didn’t Build That’ Attack on Business.”
“We Built This” Counter-Message

In the weeks leading up to the annual Republican National Convention (RNC) scheduled to be held in Tampa, Miami on August 27th, 2012, it became widely reported in the American conservative blogosphere and news outlets that the Republican party’s pivotal event will be unified under the slogan of “We Built This,” a counter-message aimed at Obama’s “You Didn’t Build That” remark.

However, the rumored reports of “We Built This” taking center stage as the dominant theme at the convention was quickly met by criticisms from numerous bloggers and online columnists, many of whom raised issues with the Republican party’s choice of the Tampa Bay times Forum arena as the venue of the event. On August 22nd, The Daily Dolt published an article titled “GOP Announces Convention Theme “We Built This” In Stadium Built With 62% Government Funds,” which pointed out that the RNC arena was in fact constructed with at least $86 million of U.S. taxpayer funds. Throughout the week, report was subsequently picked up by other blogs covering the election campaign, including Mediaite, The Huffington Post and The New Republic among many others.

Meanwhile on August 27th, Redditor FirstStateMan submitted a post to /r/politics revealing that Sher Valenzuela, a small business owner from Delaware and one of the main guests scheduled to speak at the RNC, has received $17 million federal loans and contracts on behalf of her company First State Manufacturing. The Redditor’s critical notion was also accompanied by a single serving website registered under the domain FirstStateManufacturing.com, which contained a similar message exposing the company’s records of government subsidies. As of 4:30pm (ET) on August 27th, the site reportedly went down and remains inaccessible.

What ‘You Didn’t Build That’ Really Means—and Why Romney Can’t …

Round 4: The Debt Ceiling; Hostage Negotiation has ended. The hostage was killed.

Raising the debt ceiling, something that has been done again and again by every president as was necessary by the nation’s economic needs. Until President Barack Obama was in office. Then it became something that couldn’t be done. It couldn’t be allowed. It must NOT HAPPEN. The Tea Party pushed their conservative Republican slaves until they caused something to happen which had never happened before. The United States lost its AAA credit rating. This was crazy in the extreme.

I can understand being a bigot and hating the very idea of a Black President. I don’t condone it or support it but I do understand if you’re a bigot and you want to get rid of a person who offends you, you do whatever is necessary.

Right up until it affects your money. Then you, pause, take a deep rational breath and remember, your money is more important than your pathological hatred of that…person.
Yes, that works right up until you started talking about the Tea Party, the Republican Party and their hatred of Barack Obama. Then their treasonous outrage would rather drive the nation directly to hell, make money cost more, be worth less and ultimately make the nation poorer because their idea of patriotism does not include a Black man anywhere near the White House affecting the lives of White people and they would rather salt the fucking Earth than give him the opportunity to do his job. They as much said so.

Top Democrats Suspect Republicans Try To Sabotage Economy To … (article, Huffington Post, May 19, 2019)

I am not going to belabor this point. I am sure you have had enough crazy for one day.

Standard and Poor’s statement was blunt in its assessment.

“We lowered our long-term rating on the U.S. because we believe that the prolonged controversy over raising the statutory debt ceiling and the related fiscal policy debate indicate that further near-term progress containing the growth in public spending, especially on entitlements, or on reaching an agreement on raising revenues is less likely than we previously assumed and will remain a contentious and fitful process. We also believe that the fiscal consolidation plan that Congress and the administration agreed to this week falls short of the amount that we believe is necessary to stabilize the general government debt burden by the middle of the decade,” S&P said.

You heard it. Even Standard and Poor, who may also have their own issues still behaved in a rational way and PUT THEIR MONEY FIRST. You fucking lunatics.

Round 5: The GOP Strategy to Win the White House. One drop of evil. Two drops of Sinister Sauce.

I am going to close this article with a video which discusses the GOP crazy plan to win the White House. The horror of this video is the simplicity of the plan and the overall belief that Americans are too stupid to recognize what is happening.  Why don’t you watch it and let me know. Are Americans too hypnotized by watching aging blockbuster actors limp around on set in the Expendables, tripping over their colostomy bags, watching yet another season of the idiotic Jersey Shore, or another season of singers being humiliated by American Idol and the evil that is Simon Cowell to notice our nation getting on the express elevator to hell? Let me know.
